BEST SPOTS FOR A QUIET LATE NIGHT COCKTAIL

CAFE CUEVA DEL CHANGO
Is refreshing, delightful and artistic in its atmosphere and architecture. A 20 minute walk from the ferry pier or take a cab, but you have not had a romantic evening meal or a quiet evening cocktail until you’ve visited Cueva Del Chango. Watch your step any time of day, a small man made creek runs throughout the floors. ( av. 5 norte & calle 38 norte then a 1/2 block east ) - $$

JACOBI’S RESTAURANT
A quiet spot to enjoy an evening cocktail in this north section of Playa referred to as the “Italian Quarter” or “new Playa”.

LAS DELICIAS
Out-of-the-way and quiet, just a short walk back into town. Mentioned earlier in our Local Cuisine section, the food is excellent, the simple surroundings are nice, and the collection of local ex-pats and divers that frequent this place make for a fun night out in Playa, or for just a quiet drink, day or night. ( 5 av. norte and 22 calle norte ) - $$

LA RUINA
This campground and hammock park also has a little restaurant that stays open as late as they have business. This place is a throwback to Playa’s past as a destination for hippies and campers. Popular with Europeans, especially younger travelers, the simple food is very good.

This is a quiet spot to find great conversation, enjoy a cocktail any time of day, and meet some very interesting people and exchange travel stories. It is kind of a dump, but a fun place to stop.

LA SIESTA
A wonderful spot for a drink and appetizer or pizza. Nestled on a quiet street between the beach and the much busier 5 av. norte, this is one of our favorite spots in Playa. ( 1 av. norte and calle 14 norte ) - $

TEQUILA BARREL
Is a popular stop along 5 av. norte for a quiet evening cocktail. The chairs inside the open air facility are very comfortable or sit out along the pedestrian walk and watch the people go by. ( 5 av. norte between 10&12 calle norte ) - $$

MAGDALENAS GRILL HOUSE
Located in “new Playa” so it’s a bit of a walk or hire a cab. Depending on the time of year closing time can be between 10 pm and 1 am. There are not many better spots to stop and enjoy the evening in this for now quiet corner of town. The mix of people are from across the globe. Magdalenas is friendly, happy and peaceful at the end of the evening.
