BEST FAMILY TOURIST RESTAURANTS EL SOMBRERO DE GOMAR RESTAURANT AND BAR For the large group or families, Gomar’s offers an equally large and friendly menu. No one in the group will have to extend him or herself too far from home if their culinary tastes lack adventure. Any number of good sandwiches or burgers is available, as well as fries, great salads, steaks and savory soups. If your group happens to be in the sharing mood, try ordering one of the fondues, shish kebabs or Gomars special (a combimation of lobster, shrimp, octopus, conch, squid and grilled fish with garlic), which is enough for 1,2 or 3 people, or more. There is plenty of locally influenced food available as well for those of you who want to enjoy good Mexican food. The restaurant itself is attractive, breezy and lively, located along the popular Avenue Hidalgo. Prices are reasonable, service is generally great and the design and lush potted plants throughout makes for a warm and fun atmosphere. (Corner of Madero and Hidalgo) - $$ “LAS BRISAS DEL CARIBE” RESTAURANT BAR Whether for a meal or cold drinks, this is a great stop for everyone. The pina coladas and margaritas are very good and the food is a nice mix of island cuisine, seafood, pastas and some surprisingly good sandwiches. Las Brisas is colorful and lively, especially at night, and the view is all Caribbean. Your group can dine under the thatched roof or at one of the several tables in the sand, right along the water within sight of the small fishing boats moored ten feet from your tables. On the main drag in town where, after a visit, you can all mosey on about your business and continue exploring or shopping. (On the beach in town on Rueda Medina a ½ block north of the ferry pier across from Madero) - $$ BUCANEROS RESTAURANT ROLANDI’S BAR AND PIZZARIA PLAYA LANCHEROS BEACH BAR |
